We have mixed views about PH0T0GRAPHS. Ideally they show the fun and attractiveness of naturism but we don't want to provide gratification for those too mean to pay to get onto a porno site - or those who are too simple minded to realise that naturism is not about sexual titillation. Naturism is one of the current, popular names for nude recreation. This is not sexual. This is not pathological. (That is not to infer that sex is pathological, it isn't, either). Nudism is a lifestyle. A lifestyle where people of all ages, shapes, sizes and colors, participate in many activities. Camping, swimming, hiking, picnicing, and many other fun and relaxing activities. Of course, if you haven't figured it out yet, we like to do it completely nude.

I became a nudist in 1989, after swearing for a year there was no way I'd ever even try it, and I meant it! Thanks to a patient, but persistent, friend, I was finally talked into going for what I was told would be a life-changing experience. What an understatement that turned out to be! Of course, the first 10 minutes were terrifying, but by the end of the first day, I never wanted to leave and my life WAS changed forever. I knew I would be a nudist for the rest of my life! It was the most profoundly positive experience I've ever had.

Many (but not all) traditional clubs require potential members to be members of the CCBN (Central Council for British Naturism) which is a rather decrepit organisation, with a generally conservative and narrow-minded membership, which purports to represent naturists in Britain. Apart from outdoor clubs there are numerous locations around the country which hold regular indoor naturist swimming/sauna sessions. Full details are contained in the CCBN Homepage or the CCBN's quarterly magazine which is issued free to members. The organisation has long been criticised for its lack of democracy. It is now committed to the democratic election of officers on a "one member one vote" basis. This reform was long overdue but CCBN still seems irrelevant to many nudists/naturists in Britain.
