This outdoor adventure offers an eight-day, 120km (75 miles) hiking trail which has earned itself the reputation of being one of Southern Africa's most demanding routes.

Arroyo Seco is anything but seco (Spanish for "dry"); it got its name because it disappears before joining the Salinas river somewhere underground. In the hills, it has carved a narrow deep gorge with an all year stream flowing from pool to pool. We will travel its course through the Ventana Wilderness for about 11 miles.

Summers are short, days are long, and at least on weekdays, there are dozens of lonesome trails. I know because I have been hiking them naked whenever I can since 1966. I have been hiking the Washington mountains since I came to Seattle in 1955, but I had never imagined nudity until 1966 when I discovered the now very popular, Scenic Hot Springs.

I first discovered the freedom of hiking without clothes 25-30 years ago while living in Chilliwack, in the southwestern corner of the Canadian province of British Columbia. My passion has always been for wilderness travel, and this was a difficult, steep, off-trail hike in remote country on a hot day. It didn't matter how many layers I took off, I was still sweaty and uncomfortable. As alone as I was in that valley, removing my shorts, though physically very comfortable, was psychologically rather troubling.

Since the Spring of 1998, The Boyz have gathered at various beautiful nude beaches, lakes, trails, and forests for conversation, fun, fellowship, and good, old-fashioned, male bonding... and occasional, regretful, and unfortunate cruising (We wouldn't wanna do that, would we?).
